Brief description:
As soon as a manufacturing company has several plants, automation projects with AGVs/AMRs often arise independently of each other at different locations. Then it is important to implement successful AGV projects step by step with the help of a common AGV strategy with as little loss as possible. The expert talk will clarify what is behind a successful AGV strategy and for which companies it makes sense.

Short description:
A guideline on the topic of autonomy in mobile robots was recently published in the VDI. This creates a comprehensible basis for the buzzword autonomy in the world of AGV/AMR, on the basis of which vehicles can be evaluated with regard to autonomy. In addition, it will be shown that it is important to match the degree of autonomy of a solution with the requirements of the use case. In the panel discussion, the basic ideas of the guide will be explained; there will also be a critical examination of the autonomy functions. Security aspects play an important role in this.
