51st FTS Talk: Predictable or not? Simulation in the age of autonomous mobile robots

Thursday, 29 January 2026, 4–5 p.m.:

AGV-Talk No. 50

with Dr Franziska Schloz, MHP Management and IT Consulting, and Jörg Kemper, Simplan

The more autonomous mobile robots become, the more difficult it is to simulate them realistically. Decision-making logic, learning mechanisms and situation-dependent behaviour can only be predicted to a limited extent.

In the 51st FTS Talk, Dr Günter Ullrich discusses the role of simulation in modern intralogistics projects with Dr Franziska Schloz (MHP) and Jörg Kemper (Simplan), co-authors of the new VDI 2710 Sheet 3.

The focus is not only on possible applications, but also on uncertainties, model limitations and typical misconceptions in AMR and AI-based systems.
